What if the government decided to raise our taxes in order to support more social programs?
And if you make more than 150 grand a year as income, you have to pay a higher tax rate?
What are the pro's and con's of this?
What would you do?

No need to. All we need to do is stop pissing money down the toilet in Iraq fighting a war that we never should have been involved in in the first place.

BTW, I'm not some peacenik, I served for over 21 years on active duty. This war is the most insane debacle we've become involved in in the history of the nation. Absolutely unjustified and a waste of thousands of lives and trillions of dollars. What we've pissed away on it would have provided health care for EVERY citizen in perpetuity. DUMB!

If you want the programs, they have to be paid for one way or another. Everyone is welcome to their opinion.
