My husband had me down as CEO of our Printing business.
I am in the middle of divorce. I discovered that the accountant used my mothers ss# under my name on tax records for corporation. When I asked the accountant about this, he told me that it was just a clerical error. He did do my mothers personal taxes, but I don't believe that an accountant could make that kind of error. You would think that the software they use would red flag such an error. I feel he is covering for himself and my soon to be ex-husband. Can this be possible?

We are setting up an internet store in California. My partner told me that if we ship within California, we have to charge sales taxes according to the ship-to address' County tax rate -- instead of the tax rate of the County we are located (they differ by as much as 1%) Is this true? Can you please point me to an official publication I can reference, since this is a business and cannot afford to make a mistake.

Would it raise red flags with the IRS if usually my husband and I file separately, and I claim our kids. This year I don't plan on working, and I want him to claim me and the kids as dependants, would this be okay being that when I get a job I want to go back to filing separate from him ?

I am filing taxes (<-for a tax return) for my business. I only have a receipt book to prove the sales I made. Will I need anymore "paperwork" when I go to file my taxes? I only made 6800.00 dollars. I was told all I need is my receipt book, is this true?

I just got married, and my new husband owes $3000 in back taxes. I recently read people's answers to a similar question, but I would still like to make sure. We have 2 children, and I usually receive a very nice refund at the end of the year. Will the IRS take that refund from me now that I am married? In this situation would it make more sense to file married filing separately?

Also, the debt is very old, from 1999. Is it still possible for him to contact the IRS and make arrangements to pay the debt off in installments?

Any help would be appreciated!
