I made some bad decisions and am now in deep debt. I'm disabled, on SSI and am now alone. My son moved to Washington state and will be back in a year to get me. I would like to move sooner but can't afford to. I need financial help desperately. But I don't want to go through a bank or loan company. My credit history is in chaos. Where do I look?

We recently received some money from a house sale. We have paid off all of our debts apart for one of £25k which is tied to our mortgage (and on the same interest rates). We now have about £35k left. We don't have any savings and we would like to make sure that we make the most of the money in terms of doing something for the future but because of our lack of savings I feel that we should put it somewhere where we can use it in an emergency. My partner would like to put it into Premium Bonds for that reason and pay off the remaining debt. I heard somewhere that its always best to pay off the mortgage first if at all possible. We have a huge mortgage but it is on flexible terms - if we overpay we can draw down on the overpayment so arguably it would be no different to putting it into a savings account in terms of access. Grateful for any ideas.

I think Starbucks is SO expensive when you add up several purchases in your head.. I mean, going a couple times a week .. (and then adding it up at the end of the mo.) is like buying a new pair of shoes or donating a nice amount of money to a shelter.. Does anyone agree?

I just settle an account with Wells Fargo. The unpaid balance was $11,400.00 but I manage to bring it down to a settlement of $5,000.00. They have send me a letter that stated that my credit profile will be updated as "only as Settle Charge Off" Please inform me the pro's or con's of this phrase "Settle Charge Off"

Pretty straight forward question. (I'd be looking at Used cars too)

My credit is so bad, I should be in jail...well maybe not that bad...but it's bad.

Thing is. I have a co-signer with STELLAR credit...and he's pretty well off.

I want a nice little car though the interest would be unfathomable.

Would this excellent co-signer offset that interest rate considerably or not much at all?

Oh and I live in Oregon, US.

Thanks

Do you save more interest money by making additional principal payments to the bigger loan, or does it make no difference since the interest rates are identical?? Thanks!

My poor mom, had money zapped out of her account by a debt company that must have bought a debt from a previous company. The amount they claim was 10,00$ all of which was instrest and fees, she formally mailed a letter in response stating she didn't owe this comapny and that this amount was more than 10 years old, she had never heard of this new company (until last year when they sent apay this or else letter) and that they had no right to renew the false debt. They have since tapped all of my mom's bank account and taken 4000$ !!! What can she do to stop them. Appearant when we went on vaction in january they went to the court to ask for payment on the 10,000$ false debt even though they had her response and they know the debt is past collection more than 7 years they are not suppose to be able to renew and collect on old debt. HELP. I dont' want her to just let it go but at the same time if a lawyer costs as much as the debt than it's a double wammy

My account has been perfect for as long as I've had it. Then two weeks ago a diff. bank takes over mine. Suddenly I'm overdrawn. I balance my checkbook religiously and should still have money in it. I asked the bank for a list of transactions and there is stuff on there that I didn't withdraw. Plus they say I was overdrawn 4 days ago but I was able to use my debit 1 day ago???????????????
