You can open a checking account as a minor, but many times it requires that you have an adult on the account as well, by bank policy. I suggest that you open a savings account instead, and use an ATM card to access your funds. You will pay less in fees that way.
You will need 2 valid forms of id to open an account due to new Federal Anti-Terrorism LAws. The bank will tell what is acceptable, but if you have a drivers liscense, or a State ID, and a passport, that will do.

No bank or credit union will open an account for a minor unless there is an adult (over 18) who will be on the account as well. But, I do not know if they have to be parent or gaurdian. I do believe it is illegal for a bank/credit union to open an account to a minor. They need an adult on the account as well, but like I said, I don't know if they have to be a parent or not. You'll just have to ask the bank or credit union.

You can get a checking and/or savings account, but there must be a cosigner who is an adult. A checking or savings account is essentially a contract between you and the bank or credit union, and contracts with minors are not enforceable, thus there has to be an adult who will be liable for any overdraft charges, etc.

get education from each and every of the banks on your area my economic business enterprise has a particular form of checking account for youths that demands no minimum stability additionally, in case you like it on your interest (direct deposit), they could provide you a definite form of account for that.
