Scottrade only allows one put or one call per stock symbol. So if I want to play the Nasdaq in a straddle, I need to play two different stock symbols representing the Nasdaq. I was thinking NDAQ and QQQQ, with a put on one and a call on the other, say for February? What are your thoughts on this?

If I buy a call and a put on a particular stock, what is the most amount of money I can lose? Why would Scottrade not want me to do this? If there is volatility, I could cash in on the call and the put in the same week as I see it!

I know this is a newb question, but I don't know much about retirement.
I am looking into opening up a Roth IRA. Will I have to wait until I'm age 59 1/2 to take my money out? This doesn't really sound like a good deal to me. Is there any other reason why opening up an IRA would be beneficial to me?
Also, what kind of funds should I have in my Roth IRA? Stocks, bonds, index funds, etc?

CHINA Digital TV has been corrected for some time. Why is it dropping so much again for no reason? What happened to the message board? It was there for a couple of days and then it disappeared. Any news on the stock out there?

It peaked in late October, but took a dramatic turn before the month ended into November.

Trying to review the news for the pat 6 months, and do not see any triggers that may have caused the stock to dive to its current asking price of 23.8

Anyone have a clue?
