It's a hookah lounge 2 blocks from campus. It will take 2 months maximum to get set up. This is the 1st one in the state (WV). Open now with upcoming cold weather? Or postpone until warmer weather (which will be april, although students will be moving back home in may)?

I started out 1 year ago with $3k and invested 3k every month. and I started out with 1 stock and bought a diffferent stock each month. and I ended up 8.8% ahead. Is this good or should I have a professional hold my hand?
I bought two losers ( JBLU and FIG ) And even though every one told me to sell these dogs to "cut" my losses I refuse stating I am a "long haul invester"
But, I will cut a stock that won't move either up or down. am I a moron? or just stubburn? What do you think?
Or should I "stay the course".
One more thing. I want to remove my profits off the table but since I am a small time invester I cannot determine (or weigh) the ideal time-my initial goal is to remove profits after a 40-60% gain but even that seems so small and I hate paying the $7 trading fee-lol
Please advise and remember, my risk adversion is quite high.( NO FEAR ! )

Some of my friends suggested CDs, and savings, however I don't know which CDs to choose and are they even good? However, please don't advise going to the casino or playing poker.

I am a 21 year old male college student currently living in North Orange County. I am preparing to inherit about $250,000.00 from a family member's estate, and I am somewhat unsure of what to do with the money. I am a full time student, and I only work a few hours a week. I profit about $10,000.00 max annually from work, so I need to make a significant return in order to pay my annual bills, which total about $20,000.00 right now. Here are some key points to consider:

- I do not have any school bills to worry about. I am studying to receive my BS in Business Administration and I will graduate by 2009.

- I have about $10,000 in debt - mostly medical bills - which I plan to eliminate immediately.

- I have extremely poor credit at this point in time, so I'm assuming I should avoid investments such as real estate which will yield a high interest rate every month.

- I need to purchase a car, and I plan on buying a used car in the neighborhood of $20,000.00 - $25,000.00

Companies pay rating agencies such as Moody’s and S&P to rate their bonds, and the costs can be substantial. However, companies are not required to have their bonds rated in the first place; doing so is strictly voluntary. Why do you think they do it?

I have Ameritrade and I want to make sure I use the trailing stop feature correctly.

Lets say I buy 100 shares of stock xyz for $10.00/share. Lets say I immediately place a trailing stop sell order for lets say 5%. First can I do this or do I have to wait for the stock to go up? and does this mean if I place the trailing stop order if the stock drops to $9.50 it will automatically sell but if the stock goes up so the the trailing stop?

Here's my story. My Job does not offer retirement benifits, I am well taken care of why I have not looked else where for employment. As it stand what I may make for SS isn't enough to live off of, which lets be real here, it won't be when I retire. I make about 1700 bring home, my spouse brings home $2000 , monthly our expenseses run around $1800 a month. I have no idea how to start with a saving plan. I know nothing about them other then. you put money away and it should increase. I don't like to gamble so I don't want to invest in a stock. Is there a way to invest with a company with out having to deal with a gamble? Also for someone wanting to start out what is a minimum investment? Any help or links would be appreicated. Thank you

for billions. The stock price jumps up to $5.50 on this news. The volume is sky-high on this stock. The news includes the fact that the purchasing company will untimately be going private. What should I do? It's Friday. Can I expect this stock to continue to go up and up until the deal between the companies is a done deal? Or is it probable that the buy-out company will offer share-holders somewhere around $5.50
per share??? (COMS) What would you do? Experts only please.
