I have an HR Block easy IRA. It's a Roth account. The tax lady said I couldn't touch it for 5 years and after that, I could withdraw whenever I want. Now, I believe someone said I couldn't touch it until I'm 59 1/2 and if I do, I will be severely penalized. Can anyone give me any advice in regards to this? Should I keep investing? When can I actually touch the money? Is this a good account or did I make a mistake?

Say I have a portfolio where I invested $100,00 into t-bills that would mature after 30 days. Every 30 days, my bills mature and I reinvest the principal of $100,000 in a new batch of t-bills. If I wanted to maintain a constant standard of living by living off of the investment income, would my portfolio be risk less?

Is there some kind of federal law that says that I have to pay my trading commissions out of my IRA? Why did E*TRADE tell me that everybody does that? Is there an online broker, that I can trade stocks frequently through my IRA, that is worth it?

You own $100,000 worth of Smart Money stock. One year from now, you will receive a dividend of $2 per share. You will receive a $4 dividend two years from now. You will sell the stock for $50 per share three years from now. Dividends are taxed at the rate of 28 percent. Assume there is no capital gains tax. The required rate of return is 15 percent. How many shares of stock do you own?

Someone else asked a very similar question with no good specific answers. Yes I know that investing in stocks at any time is risky. What I mean is...Say I invest in a good company. Say its Guarantee Wonder Widget CO. GWWWCO. I go to Scottrade and type in the code and click on buy. Now I have 100 shares. Suddenly the stock market takes a "VERY" bad fall. It goes down, down, down, and doesn't come back up (Like the Great Depression- or worse) Meanwhile Wonder Widgets are selling like hotcakes. GWWWCO is doing great. Can I take a horse and buggy to my local Scottrade office, wait in line next to the people begging for bread and get my $$$.

We are playing a stock market game in school. You are given $10,000, to spend on stock. All the stock in the game is the same as in the real world. I would like to know what some good stock would be to invest in, so if you know i would appreciate it!
