I just recently got out of the military and am eligible for the veteran's life insurance. I was wondering if it is something I should capitalize on or if there are better policies out there for me. I'm still young and this is a new thing for me. I am able to get as much coverage as I had with the Army up to $400,000. Should I max it out? Thanks, Johnny C.

My father passed away in '93. Just last month it came to my attention that he had a life insurance policy thru Principal Life Insurance that he started in the late 60's early 70's. In 2002 they did a dispersment of funds from owner of int. Nonadr. I'm waiting for that now. But does that mean the policy was still in effect in '93. and if so do they still owe the survivors benefitsfrom his policy. The comp. is realyy closed mouth about this and I'm trying to avoid getting a lawyer till its deemed necessary.

For a single person with one dog (not on the "bad" list for insurance) On average, how much should I expect to pay? And is it worth it to have?

The reason why is there is a big parking lot beside me that the snow sometimes gets plowed up on the side facing our house, and the slope of the land goes towards my house. This was not disclosed in any of the purchase documents, nor during the house inspection. When I complained to the owner of the big parking lot they said, "oh yes, that's a problem, there was a big flood once, every one knows about it...better get your foundation fixed." Nice.

Can I make a claim on title insurance since I feel this information was deliberately withheld? Everyone may have known but I moved in from out of town.

When answering, please remember this is a Canadian law question.

What is the difference between accidental death insurance and regular life insurance? Which is a better buy? Wouldn't all deaths (excluding illnesses) be accident? If you only buy life insurance and don't include accidental death insurance then what is usually excluded? Thanks!!!
(I know its different for every insurance company, I am just wondering what generally the outcomes would be)

My Ex-wife wants me to get life insurance with my daughter as the sole beneficiary. How do I set it up so that my ex-wife doesn't get the bulk of the money and my daughter gets monthly payments until she is 18, and the rest when she graduates from College?

Do I get life insurance with a Trust as the beneficiary?

I want to make sure that if I get remarried, my entire family gets something instead of just my daughter.

What do I do?

My sister was in a car accident where she rear ended a lady. My sister was at fault and the other lady's car costs 8K, but her insurance will only pay $2500. They are trying to make her pay the remaining $5500. She can't afford it, or a lawyer.
