Maybe this is a silly question, but here it goes:
I am using the Companies House (UK) online service. I want to appoint the company's secretary as a director but also want him to remain secretary. In the online form 288a, do I tick the box which says "Director" or "Director&Secretary".
In my view I should tick "Director" as he is already the secretary. But I just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

seen this a lot in the corporate world, where bosses will have a different view than the rest, but go with what most people are trying to influence them to do. And if other people were to speak against it, their job would be on the line. Why?

Why do so many companies only want to hire people with degrees? I realize it gives them more of a professional stature, but what about the people that are less fortunate and couldn't afford college and are sick of working at little companies?
