I didn't make them work there...

I agree with the second part but not the first. I find most people at Wal Mart to be very friendly when given the chance. They tend to be older than those at fast food places and more interested in their surroundings. It may be a crummy job but they are making the most of it.

On the other hand, fast food places should be sued by the government for false advertising. Have you EVER, I mean one single time in your life, EVER been into a MacDs or Burger Barf or any of the others and found a clean looking, smiling, friendly, alert, sharp person standing behind the counter who looks eager to see you? One time, just one time. It doesn't happen. Nor are the stores spotless clean, the burgers never look as puffed up as in the pictures, the parking lots are always filthy, and the employees are a bunch of sour faced retards who sound like robots and never seem to be able to get your order correct the first time.

WalMart workers have to start their shift with a cheerleader meeting, exercises, and screaming W! A! L! M! A! R! T!. It's required for the job. Also, they are worked 35 hours a week, so WalMart doesn't have to give them full time employee benefits. That would sure make me grumpy.

Fast food workers are grumpy because they realize that the next step on the career ladder is a job at WalMart.

Wal-Mart workers are treated so poorly. It's not the worst job in the world, but they should have better pay & benefits considering Wal-Mart is the #1 retail business in the world !!!!

Fastfood workers work their butts off. Have you ever worked at a fast-food restaurant? Lotta work for little pay.

Probably overworked and underpaid. Of course you didn't make them work there, but let's face it - if they had better job opportunities, why would anyone be working at WalMart or fast food places? They may be worried about paying their bills, or how to care for a sick child without any health insurance, they may be cranky because lots of people are just plain rude to them, or maybe they are really nice people who are just having a bad day. (Happens to the cheeriest of us!)

Cause they work for pennies and hate the job, but they have no education or any type of skill so walmart and fast food is the best they can do.

All the Wal-Mart workers I come in contact with are friendly.

It's the K-Mart employees who act like they wish the customers would go home and leave them alone.

Here's a McDonald's story:

I went to McDonald's and my order came to $6.37. I didn't have a 5 and I didn't want a lot of change back so I gave her $11.37. She punched in the amount I gave her and the register told her to give me $5.00 change. She stared and stared at that like something miraculous had happened and then asked me "you knew that was going to happen, didn't you"?

Greeter: "Hi, welcome to Walmart. Walmart moved across the street from my store, which caused sales to drop, so I had to shut down my store. Now I have to work at Walmart as they are the only place hiring retail jobs, because they shut down everyone else. And because they pay us so low, I can only afford to shop at Walmart. Please enjoy shopping at Walmart."

Aside from that, most people who shop at Walmart treat the staff like crap. Soccer moms act like the girl behind the till is less than a slave.

Low pay, no benefits, although Wal mart is starting to do better with their employees. If you don't have an education, it's hard to find work anywhere else, and not everyone is in a position to go to college.

They are under paid and have no benifits. And probably cant get a job anywhere else because of lack of experiance or because their jobs where shipped over seas.
