My office hasn't had a very good holiday party for years, so I've decided to jump in and help out on the committee. I grew up with parents who's companies made the events whole-family events and all of us thought it was a lot of fun, but now I'm finding that most places don't host family-friendly events for their christmas parties and I'm beginning to wonder if this party that we're planning shouldn't be family friendly. Does anyone have any suggestions for good family friendly company parties, or should the idea completely be dropped and instead go for more of a cocktail and entertainment event?

I am in the process of starting and naming my multi media company. The ideal business name would be geared toward urban/hiphop marketplace like music, videos and other products and services targeted to the above marketplace. Any help with naming my new company would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I can return the favor back to you in another way. It's about wal-mart trying to take Xmas away from children,
Single parents can't afford Christmas present for their children if they do away with lay-a-way. Wal-Mart is supposed to support
the communities where they have stores but all they want to do is cut back wages. I heard Target is thinking about lay-a-way. This may not hurt you or I but it sure will hurt a lot of kids getting ready for the new school year & parents trying to make a good Christmas.

Our company president and CEO has chatted about our employees being "so important"...

yet this same guy who has taken over the company has steadily eroded the employees by taking virtually every perk they used to get, with the major one being service awards to people who have been at the company for a long time.

How am I suppose to develope some sense of trust with this individual as an employee, when at meeting we preach one thing, yet we do something very different.

Does anyone else face this dilema at work, when we distort, or twist the facts to knowingly decieve people?

My daughter is a real people person, and wants to work in HR some day for a major corporation.

How do I break the news to her that this is no longer a noble position, and that she will just be a pawn to implement such policies as laying off people due not due to performance, but to sell-off the job to a 3rd world country. Or to tell someone their company life insurance policy made the corporation a benifactor when someone dies...or that the pension plan coffers have been raided, or that they need to carry a cellphone with them when they go on vacation, or a number of other scripted corporate excuses for using people like inventory. This job is for someone, but how do I convince her so she does not become corrupted?

the few items received, I noticed that the packaging was a major problem. The items are leather clothing and with the packaging currently used, the leather tends to get damaged and the boxes are somewhat destroyed. Does anyone know of any companies located in China that deal with cartons, price reasonable and trustworthy?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

no service - no products in stock - treat employees like **** - they still owe me a paycheck from like almost 2 years ago - it isn't worth getting a lawayer to get it though - my car was damaged on their property by another employee and they refuse to do anything- oh I HATE Home Depot so much!!!!

i need ur help. I have got dispute with a top indian bank. I got a credit card from a bank by depositing Fixed deposit. I used it for online transactions. I am a software guy. I had subscribed to few services which work by automated charging of credit card for renewal of services. I gave them permission for that. Some months back, i was going for holiday and i also wanted to cancel my credit card. So i called the bank call center to cancel my card. They told me that i has been cancelled.Few days later I again inquired them and they said that though it was not cancelled but this time it is sure cancelled. They did not aknowledge my previous cancelllation request. But during discusions one of their staff agreed that there was a previous request. After a week of my first cancellation request ...one of automated transaction took place against the credit card. But as i was assured by the bank guys that card is cancelled.bank wants me to pay for the transaction. its all happen over phone.
