I must have gone on 10 interviews in the last 3 months and none of the jobs were offered to me. The employers look at me and first thing they sometimes ask is How old are u ? But they always want to talk to me after they see my resume. They tell me I am very intelligent but....young. How can a young person like you know this? How did you get so much experience being so young? Now, I am not that young... I am in my very late 20s , and I am pursuing clinical research. So far no luck.... I just want others opinions if what is happening to me is happening elsewhere.... On the margin, its flattering to be told that you look younger than your age but on the other hand its like someone telling you, you are too pretty to be this smart, etc.

I am thinking about buying an older home, if I do there is so much to fix on it. It has a wet basement that would haved to be fixed. Then i would want to finish it putting two bedrooms,bathroom, and a family room in. It needs new windows about 30. We want to add a 1/4 bathroom on the main floor, and make the batroom upstairs bigger by adding part of one room to it and adding the other part of that room to the room next to it.We want to finish the attic which would make a big bedroom. The kitchen would need new everything. floors,counters,cabinents,est. And the last big project would be siding, which we could hold of for a few years.It is a big house and was built in 1932, so is it worth all the trouble? Any one that knows anything about fixing up houses want to give me a guess on how much it would cost??

I am from Taiwan and currently live in US. I am trying to decide to invest US funds through US or taiwan broker. The management fee in taiwan is much higher but the brokers said that the capital gain is US-tax free (and tax free in taiwan too) because the fund companey is located in some specific country. I highly dought it! Does anyone know the answer?

Also, say if I invest in a Japan fund through a US broker, dose Japan takes tax on the capital gain too or only the US goverment?

I have read recently that generation Y (15--->29 year olds) feels that they do not have to pay their dues and work their way up in the professional world. They often express that they deserve to make $30,000+ with nothing more than a college education. Why have the rules changed for them when previous generations had to work very hard, often at poor paying entry level positions, before making a decent living. Why is generation Y exempt from this?
