I'm trying to work at paying off my debt and get my credit score up. I have close to $7000 in credit card debt (I have 7 credit cards). Some of the credit cards have high APRs between 16% and 24%. I've been paying all my monthly payments on time and have been paying more than the minimum payment. Do you think going to a debt consolidator would be better or even helpful? If so, what are good companies to go to?

My daughter at 18 yrs and 5 months signed up for a phone at the request of a 32 year old male. He defaulted on that contract and now the phone company is going after her for payment. She is quite naive about issues like this because she is on my family plan. This man is a con-man. He has gotten young girls, like her, to do things for him. At 18 years old, how much do you understand what you are doing, especially if an oder adult is feeding you a line of bull?
Besides going to small claims court, is there anyway we can make him responsible to pay this outstanding bill, which by the way has gone to collections?

Here is my big problem: My company purchased in Romania a company called Elaro. Elaro rents FROM an ex-State company around 2000m2 of retail shops for 10,000$ per month and for the next 30 years. Elaro rents to premium tenants all shops at 35,000$. At the expiration of the rent contracts in 2009, Elaro can even increase rents to 60,000$ per months. So Elaro makes a profit of 300,000$ per year now and from 2009, it will make 600,000$. My risk is that the block of flat may at anytime burn or be destroyed by an eathquake. All insurance companies in Romania told me I have to be the owner to be able to insure or get owner approval for that. I can not get any of these. I am serious about that issue.

I work 40 to 45 hours but my boss told me that he was going to cut my hours to 27 a week. Will I be able to file for unemployment?

and no closing cost out of pocket? I found some good investments and I'm not really willing to put $9000 down for closing cost on them. I wouldn't mind all of it to go into the mortgage since these houses will be rentals paying for themselves and cheap enough that monthly payments won't be high. I'd also like to be able to take out up to $10000 for repairs and initial mortgage on all three while I'm fixing them. Do you know how I can do this? These places are in Upstate NY. I need to find a bank that does this sort of things. I'm a first time homebuyer who makes about $45K a year and credit score in low 700s. I'll take a partner into this deal and we both make about the same a year.

Any help will be appreciated. I'd appreciate info from people who've done this or know how to do this. Step by step instructions would be great.

My mother had me to call this place that had Capital one logo on it but when they answered the phone it said NCO. She had me to do this because she got this letter in the mail that said the OC is willing to take 70% of the balance that is in charge-off status. The guy on the phone told me that if I give him my(really my moms) checking account number today it would not accrue and more interest charges. To be honest this guy sort of scared me even though it was my mother's account. I tried despartly to get off the phone and he kept hounding me for the checking account number. Please help me what should I do?

When I first started to rent, she didnt want to rent, but wanted to sell and get the house out of the way and have the money. Now, that she sees I am a good renter, she isnt sure if she wants to sell, I want to try for a loan in August. How do I ask her to sell and get a good price on the home. It is a bit run down and I have some good ideas for improvement but dont want to put money into it if I cant buy it. She doesnt want to put any money into it either.
