Some states allow a 'cooling off' period of several days for certain types of contracts. New York for instance, allows 3 days to back out of a contract with no penalty, as long as the none of the parties has performed under it.

No, once you're 18 and sign ANY legal papers - contracts, loans, etc., you are legally obligated to abide by the terms of said legal agreement. So THINK TWICE!
