my mum needs women clothes roughly size 16-20 but she cant find any stores which stock good quality plus size clothes.

she use to shop in Liz Clarbourne in West end but that shop closed down and she needs to find another store which is similiar.

does anyone know any stores in London??

For you, your children/family from ebay or charity shops. I do when I can't find any at a reasonable price in the shops and my sister was disgusted, surely as long as you wash them it's ok, isn't it

i'm really frustrated. i handwashed my woollen sweater in cold water with special detergent meant for woollen garments, and then pulled and stretched it a bit (because instructions said to "reshape whilst damp")... and hung it to dry as per washing label instructions. when it was dry, it was shrunken and i couldn't fit into the sleeves anymore. i tried pulling and stretching the sleeves but there wasn't much "give" in the garment - the knitting was very tight and there is no way i could try to reshape the woolly sweater after it was dry. i really dont know what i did wrong! my husband says he hates wearing woollen clothes because of the same thing - they shrink after washing. i haven't dared to wash my other woollen sweater as a result. perhaps someone here can give me some pointers on how to wash wool garments??? also, is it still possible to "save" my shrunken wool sweater now?

I have a white sleeveless knee length tunic dress which has a flattering & comfortable design.

The only problem that is stopping me from wearing it out of my house is that it is made out of pretty thin cotton. It's like if I go under sunlight with that dress I might as well walk around in my undies in public... It's fabric is not light sort of a standard cotton t-shirt material. I believe it's its color (white) that makes it translucent?

My tailor actually advised me to get wear a pair of "underwear skirt" for the bottom & a white tube top for modesty. As it would make the dress' cut less flattering if she sews a lining (more poofy).

Anyone with any other advices? Or just want to agree with my tailor?

Whenever i buy jeans or jackets, ("maongs") I observe that they are sewn in orange. Sometimes it does not rhyme with the blue colored jeans or the black one neither with the style.

i got this 100% cotton crochet knit hoodie from pac sun... and on the care tag it says to machine wash in cold water and then dry flat... but i was wondering would putting it in the dryer damage it?

and for this hoodie it says to tumble dry low.

I want to buy a gold necklace. However, I go to the jewelery store and it's like $1000 for a 14k gold necklace. It's really shiny though, are the $50 ones out there just as shiny? Why are some sold at $50 while others at $1000? How will people distinguish between something that costs real money versus some $50 rip off?

How much can I expect for an 18k Figaro gold necklace? 14k Figaro gold necklace? 18k means it's more pure gold and lighter right? Why is it that a gold watch from Rolex will cost you $30k while a gold necklace will only cost like $3000?

Anyway, would $1000-$3000 for a 14k Figaro gold necklace be a fair price? That's the price they're selling at, not the "estimated retail price" where they mark it up. I couldn't find 18k, but I'm interested in prices for that. Also, do prices go down during Xmas shopping season? If so, how much of a discount can I expect or should I just buy a necklace now?I'm wondering in the event that the price of gold might affect price/discount

we used to buy these pyramid shape candles somewhere but i dont remember where. you light them and then while they're burning and the wax is dripping off, there are "treasures" (they were like metal or something and looked like charms for a charm bracelet.. but they weren't.) would come out of them. or you would see one at the top almost coming out of the candle and so you'd blow the candle out and take this "treasure" out. and they were like little charms and there were lots in the candle. they were about medium size (the candle was) and the "treasures" were kinda small. i used to have these types of candles all the time! just about 4 years ago! and i loved them! does anyone know what im talking about and/or where i can buy them?!!
