my hair has been colored for about five years and it been growing really slow since i was born. i would like for it to be really long and i don't want to wait for a really long time for it to grow.i plan on not coloring my hair for a really long time.

Alright I am an african american female and I often hear people say that you shouldn't use too much heat on your hair..i use a flat iron and it seems that the only way my hair will look good is if i straighten it ALOT! So my question is how can I better my hair without using sooo much heat....by the way my hair is very very thick!
