I had a prob w/ this too...i hinted at it...like urgg look at my legs mom...they are soo hairy!! soo then she bought me nair....and i didn't like it but its prob. best you start w/ it..they hair stays off longer and you won't cut yourself...then i went on vacation and my mom said she didn't want me to have to nair so she bought me a razor..i guess u just have to wait till she is ready for you to have it..but try to hint at it or get nair..

The best thing you can do is simply ask her, doing it without asking could get you into trouble. If she says no ask her her reasons. Does she think you're too young, or could it be she's scared that you'll hurt yourself. Have good, strong rebuttals for anything you think she could come up with. Be calm too, parents are often impressed when you are reasonable. Tell her why you think you should shave, never use the "my friends are all doing it" because that never, ever works. Parent don't care what your friends are allowed to do because they have the say over you. Plus that whole "if your friends jumped off a bridge would you" speech really gets old. Be strong and just give you point of view.

Mom, can I shave my legs?

Just ask her so show you how. I'm a mom and if my daughter came to me and asked me if she could shave, I'd help her learn how to shave.

Say "Mom, I would like to learn how to shave my legs, would you please teach me?"
Mom then feels special because you came to her and she agrees to help you.
This works on most mothers. Not all. She may give the excuse you are too young for shaving or something like that.

I think I was around 12 when I started shaving mine and I don't think I asked her. Just do it. She probably expects it and besides she can hardly ask you to do it.

Just tell her that you think it's time that you start to learn how to shave.
