Just bought a Canon PowerShot A710 IS, and beyond the "manual" point and shoot, I'm not sure what I'm doing or how to use the features. Does anyone know of a good website where someone can learn the basics of Digital Photography?

In other words, what would be a more "professional" photograph: one taken with a 10MP point-and-shoot, or one taken with a 7MP DSLR?

Okay, I may start investing in cameras, and zooming equipment, and want to know what is out there that is proven to use. Not just a name you saw somewhere or heard what was good, but have actually used, and would stake your good name on.

I do use disposable cameras, but there are times when you need to zoom in tight to get a good shot, and there are times when you need to get a good action shot, and times when time is of the essence.

Thank you so much, in advance, for your information, insight, input, and thoughtful consideration.

I need a 35mm film scanner to scan hundreds of 40+ yr old color slides for archival purposes. I'm using a Mac Mini which has USB 2.0 and Firewire. I don't know what all is on the market at this time, and am looking for the best quality performance within my price range. Ideally, the cost would be closer to $500-600.

I've always wanted to do this so now I am. For those of you who think it's wrong, please don't respond. I've got a little hair on the chest and pretty hairy legs and I'm going to pose nude for a fotographer. Most other pictures I've seen the guys are hairless. Should I or shouldn't I shave off all my hair?

I was considering going to college(possibly at the school of Visual Arts in NYC) to get a degree in photography. I am wondering if this would be a good decision. Are there any jobs for photographers nowadays? What kind of jobs could I obtain? I could use some advice from some professional photographers. Thanks.

I'm taking a number of indoor digital photos, and I really don't want to use the flash if at all possible. Any suggestions about how I should go about lighting the shot, using "standard" lighting ie. household lamps etc. The shot is of a small group of people (2 or 3), indoors, in the evening.

I have a gorgeous and unusual Jack Russell puppy who is tan all over and amazingly photogenic. My partner, who is a photographer, has taken some stunning pictures of her and I'd love to see them printed on a calendar that can be bought in the shops. How do I go about submitting them for consideration? Any tips would be appreciated!
