a glossy finish or a matte finish for a photo greeting card? Which ones better.

Depends what you like, the razzle dazzle of the gloss or the flat matte finish. Most postcards are glossy, most greeting cards are matte, if you are making the greeting card on your computer with a graphics software program, I would go for the matte. If it's a photograph I would go for the glossy. I hope I didn't confuse you.

I use a general rule. If I am going to put a picture under glass in a photo frame I go with a matte finish. That helps to keep from creating a glare in the photo. For something like a photo card I'd go with glossy. That can vary depending on the subject of the image but I am assuming you are talking about a color picture of people.

Depends on the need to which you will put the photographs. Matt finish is better for Printing quality and Gloss for current better looks.

Well, glossy finish shows fingerprints really badly, but can have sharper color than matte finish.

Glossy is better in my opinion because it's more polished and sophisticated looking.
