Was the film transparent or translucent? And was the ink something like today's acrylics or something totally toxic?

I have an inking pen but it bleeds so i was thinking of getting somtehing that will last me long, doesnt bleed, and is really good. I saw this : http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?level=SK&id=450784&Ntt=mars&uniqueSearchFlag=true&An=text at office depot but hesitated to buy it because I did not know if it's that good. so does anybody have any experience with a really good technical pen? I want one so that it does fine clean even lines so i may scan it into the computer and cell shade.

Here's my drawing:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a305/dunric/bowie4.jpg

This is my first real drawing in about a decade (1997 or so). I received a "draw animals" style artbook and art supplies from my mom a year ago, but she's always wanting me to draw something for her for Christmas, so I drew a picture of my cat Bowie (based on a photograph I took of the cat).

I used a line grid to get everything fairly even and lined up, although even in the picture his eyes aren't quite the same size (I have no idea why).

Anyway, how does it look? Remember, I haven't drawn a serious drawing in almost a decade now. And prior to that, I hadn't drawn seriously since about 5 years earlier (1992).

I'm a sporatic artist. :)
