practice- I often don't draw because I a m afraid to start worrying about the end result. the best thing to do is just do it- put on some inspirational music, move yourelf to an area that makes you feel creative and put the pencil to the paper- so what if it comes out bed, start over , do it again- just keep doing it until it comes natural to you-
It is like this with all arts- I dance and spontaneous dance is hard for me- I am comfortable with the choreographed but I feel "moosy" when I just wing it- but the more I wing it, the easier it becomes- dont let a bad spontaneous drawing or two stop you-
just keep practicing and soon, just as I am more able to do in dance, you will be able to do in drawing- someone said- if you want to be a writer, write- that goes for all things- if you want to be an artist - draw! It wont always be perfect, you will make mistakes , you will learn something new each time but you will not excel unless you just do it!

Just relax and think of anything that you may have seen in life and just sit down and start drawing it. The drawing may change as you are working on it, and it may not always come out right. It just takes practice. The best drawings I do are ones that I just sit down and do them from my head. I can be bored at work and will just take out a post-it note and do a quick sketch of just anything. It's interesting, and it's from your mind. With time it will come naturally to you. When you are first starting, you don't have to imagine something extravegant. For example, you might could say I'm going to draw a woman sitting on a bench. Well, as you start drawing, the bench turns out to be in a park. The drawing will become more creative as you draw it. You just got to think of a focal point and work out from there. Let it come to you as you are drawing it. Just mainly enjoy yourself, and with enough practice you can get to a point where you would be able to do drawings from a request just like you see those painters on tv doing all the time...lol. Good luck, I hope this helps.

for me its practicing or trying new media, charcoal, graphite pencils, or anything new. Try drawing new objects, or even tracing them so you get a feel of what its like. You try to memorize them in your mind, then Little by little draw item things without a pictures...or just look at it then draw it. Best of all do what you just did ask for ideas or help and be open to criticism. Good luck and keep open mind
