Visual Arts - December 2006

I want to get him an all-in-one printer that has a scanner, copier, printer etc. so that he can use it for lots of things. However, it also needs to be able to print pictures from his camera that are high quality. He has a Fuji camera and I want to surprise him this christmas with a good printer but I don't know the first place to start my search. Please, can you recommend some good brands and models? thanks!

i just did my first shoot with it and it was TRICKY! it kept focusing on ONE thing and everything else was blurry and so many times it was the wrong thing. i can see where it can be used to the photographer's advantage but it kept screwing things up. should i only use it for baby shoots? does any one know any tips? thanks!

My boyfriend has a picture of his children when they were very young and I wanted to restore it for him for Christmas or his birthday but the picture is stuck to the frames glass and the glass is broken. This is definitely not porn. This photographer (a man) gathers large groups of willing people to pose nude outdoors. He arranges them in their positions, a type of group pose, and then takes a wide shot of the scene with his camera. At first glance the pic doesn't look like a group of nude people at all, until someone points it out. He's definitely controversial, but it's definitely not porn. It's clearly an artistic expression that he creates using nude bodies. I saw only a brief blurb about his work on PBS, but didn't catch his name.

I'm planning to paint a portraint of Leonardo Da Vinci using a certain theme. I'm actually going after Guissippe Archemboldo's (mind the spelling, please) notion of painting using themes.... such as, making a face only out of fruits, or nature, or books! So I am planning to paint 3/4 view of Leonardo's face mainly using human organs, such as hearts for his cheeks, large/small intestines for his beard, appendix for his eyeborws, etc... because he was actually an anatomist himself, so I thought it would be a great theme to draw him out of human organs... something along that line. My plan is to draw him out first then place the organs in place to make resemble him. I'm going to use water colour, pencil crayons, and acrylic on large illustration board. What do you guys think of this idea...?

I am from the Cleveland, Ohio area. I have been looking to purchase an all manual-focus SLR film camera for the holidays. I am most interested in the Pentax K-1000. I do not wish to get it online.
