I am TRULY not tryin to be racist here at all let me make that clear, but I know some how somebody will twist my ? towards racism. Why do blacks complain about there portrayal in the world when many black rappers use the N word in there music and promote hookers and such. Why can they use the N word isn't that demeaning there own character? I have never understood but I wanna know why a lot of blacks I know think this ok if a black person throws the word around but if a white person says it we are racist? And also why are blacks justified to call whites racial slurs? But if I am a white person and throw some racial slurs back am I immediatly demeaned to a racist?

"Soles"

I came to hate parking lots.
Row upon row of cars and me without keys.
I wove in and out of the junkers and shiny
ego trips.
All of them locked up tight.
I heard the sound of leather,
tasted dashboard dust.
Maybe I could learn to jimmy locks.
I tapped at windows waiting for alarms or a
long shot.
I wished I knew how to hot-wire.
I dreamed of asking for directions at a
greasy gas station.
Yet driving randomly and reaching my
destination anyway.
All I could feel was the echo of engines.
The sound of their cooling like the ticking
of clocks.
I sat on a curb considering the weight of
my shoes.

The house I was working on has been vacant for several years. My wife and I got it cheap and started doing repairs to it....I was working in the old garage and tore open the wall and low and behold an old dusty bag completly filled with stacks and stacks of new $50 dollar bills all dated 1943. Some years back I visited a friend in jail. I noticed that etched on the counter, on the jail side of the glass, someone had written "Endure and Conquer". By coincidence, about a year later in my profession as a Sanitation Engineer (garbabe man), I found an engagement ring with the same phrase inscribed inside. Has anyone heard this phrase before? Where does it originate? I could not find it in Bartletts Quotation and I'm curious and stumped as to the origins of "Endure and Conquer". Please Help!
