Because over time, I think that the vows are overlooked and they find the need within themselves to show their better half that they truly still stand by them. I think its a great reward for t hose who do make it to that point since the divorce rate it so high. Its a chance to show all your family and friends that you made it and you deserve a seond day of glory to pledge your love to the other peerson that you still choose as your lifelong partner. Its a repsectful and admirable thing and those who get the chance truly deserve it for staying true and working hard at marriage rather than wimping out. Its a second chance to praise your first and most imporant person in your life.

Most people who renew their vows do so as a testimony to others of what Christian marriage is all about and also to remind themselves of the vows they have made and kept

I think they expire after 20 years or so. So you gotta renew -- kinda like your license minus the vision test.
