if your talking about wars and murders...its sometimes not so much about hatred ...but people tend to get pretty caught up with material interest...so caught up that the value of a person becomes 0....
As in a personal level..or even humanitarian level...I believe that this is happening because we don't fully understand ourselves..none of us do.. nor the Pope nor the Dalai Lama... nor Bill Gates or Bono... none of us truly understand why we do the things we do, or why are we here...or what's this life about, and sometimes this creates such confusion that leads to (if I may say my personal opinion...) WRONG decisions , which lead to tragic events.
Sorry if you think I'm crazy... this is just how I feel

well not a specific ? but w/e i will take a shot. I believe it is human nature to be "dominant" of our kind. I know it sounds animal but think about it? What do wolves do or walruses do to show dominence do to show dominence? They fight just like us. We sometimes do it in subtler and sometimes very extravagantly. But think about are we much different from monkeys? Were just smarter and know more but still run off the same basic instincts.

Because "humanity" live only for themselves. They do not think for others, but only for their own benefits.
People are evolving into smarter animals, thus some might live for others.
