Hey, I'm really confused about a big history project because I've been reading different stuff about the National Road all over the place.

Somewhere it says Senator Henry Clay was the 'driving' force behind the project... and somewhere a whole story about Albert Gallatin is quoted. Who was the main contributor?

Also, I would really appreciate if someone could explain to me who the interested/affected 'groups' were. I realize that the Ohians played an important part in this. Was there anyone else involved?

And lastly, I need to list the short and long-term advantages AND disadvantages of the National Road. I know the project was abandoned after the beginning of Railroads, and that it was the first federally funded project, but I am unable to find anything else in the long-term effects especially.

P.S., please don't just provide a mere link with all sorts of information about Route 40. I've already been through a lot of that.

Thanks!

If Hitler did have children, what would have happened to them? If they had survived would they have been killed by allies or would they kill themselves like Hitler and his wife?

I have to write a report about the lifestyles of English people before the Norman conquest in 1066. Aspects like customs, religion and political organizations such as towns and stuff are things I need to know about.

I suppose I'm specifically interested in what happened in big cities like London, where the kids were evacuated and everyone bundled into the underground and back-garden shelters when the air raid sirens went off. Did the pets go with them into the shelters or platforms? Or were they just left in the houses to be bombed or else scared half to death.. I'm kind of torn on whether its completely unthinkable to leave them out there, or whether it was hard enough to find places to "cram" the humans in that it really wasn't possible to bring pets..
