I'm britissh, middleaged and learned nothing about slavery. It seems to me it was more opportunistic than anything else. Those responsible didn't go looking for black people to inslave. I suspect if they had gone to china and could have done the same thing they would have.

My guesses, in order of likelihood:

1. East Asian Crisis: China vs. India or India vs. Pakistan, with Japan soon joining in.

2. Middle Eastern Disaster: US, Europe, and Israel vs. Iran, leading to a very weird situation in which Arabs feel torn between religious affinity with the Persians and ethnic nationalism.

3. China vs. Russia, after China becomes aggressive.

- Lexington and Concord
- Battle of Bunker Hill

Why did they start? Ex: Colonies were mad at Parliament and Britain in turn got angry at them for boycotting, etc.

what army in the world is the greatest?? (including ancient civilizations)

please ignore the point that we have bombs and some people don't

I believe that the Roman Leigons were the best army!! Because of them the Roman Empire conquered most of the middle east. They were disciplined, well trained and their tactics and way of fighting was un rivaled!

In Yahoo news, there is a story about the Japanese Government wanting to revise history textbooks regarding WW2. "Education Minister Kisaburo Tokai has said overturning them [not revising the textbooks] would be difficult and could alienate powerful nationalists in his Liberal Democratic Party." What's your opinion on this rewriting of history textbooks just for politics? The Jews rant and rave about the Holocaust, so here's my input on another part of history's atrocities. Check out the story on Yahoo at news dot yahoo dot com "Japan revises history texts". Worth sharing with the WW2 Generation.

During the Jacksonian era some major changes started taking place in politics. There were three major changes. One change took place within the voters. A new type of voter emerged. Another change was in the character of political parties. Finally, the role of the President changed. Jackson is seen by many as the start of a stronger role that US President would play. Why did these major changes happen?
