Is America an empire?

Doesn't it count, and will we fall like rebulicans and empires of the past?

In order for you to find out if America is an empire is to know the definition of the word "empire". If you didn't the definition is "a government under an emperor or empress". Since the US is not ruled by an emperor or empress, my guess is that America is not an empire. Besides, it does even have colonies or territories in other countries.

I do not think that we fall into the groups of empires of the past because the old empires weren't kind enough to fight for other countries or support other countries. But, we are powerful and have strong armies and navies like the old empires from the past. I think we fall into the republicans of the past because we have freedoms and rights like they did. We are also called "Democratic Republic"

Is Ameria an Empire? Thats a good question. For sure we are a super power. We have the strongest Military in the world, our economy is strong. When I think of a Empire I think of an empire taken over at will. Could we take over the world.....doughtful, I dont think were that strong. I was watching a show a couple of months back and they were saying America is strong, but some time it will have to come down. We cant stay this strong forever.

Yes, it is a continental empire like the old Russian Empire and Chinese Empire although it has several overseas possesions.
New York is called the Empire State and has the Empire State Building. This might give you a clue.

If it falls like empires of old, it will be because of the people alive today who do everything they can to ruin the country.
