I have the first two chapters of a story written and I'm looking for a beta and someone to run ideas by. Its not a fanfic, but it is based on a japanese school so i'd prefer someone who knew something about that. Also, in later chapters, there might be shounen-ai and maybe even yaoi so if you don't like that, please don't even bother to flame me because i really don't care what you think. if you don't know what shounen-ai or yaoi is then... awww... you're so cute and innocent. ^^ But anywho, please someone help me! *cries*

I read "Nineteen Eighty Four" by George Orwell.
It is very scary and reads like freaking current events.
I haven't looked at the world the same way since.
I would say it definitely took some of my innocence away.
Really a downer.
Do you think it could be the root of my current nihilistic leanings?
Do you think I can unlearn these unbecoming effects?

When I was in elementary school, I ordered a book of ghost stories. One of the stories was about two boys meeting and playing together quite often. (I believe one of the boys and his little sister had just moved to the area.) After some time, the family found out that the "playmate" had actually died of lukemia some years earlier.

I think this book also had a list of haunted places divided by state in the back.

Can anyone remember a book like this? It was paperback and ordered through one of the book clubs. HELP!

leader (like Dalai Lama) only politics force acceleration of the machine. Result is Insane leader who it seems has been had, but in the end knows what happened. He talks the conspirator into devising a torture wheel that will resuscitate the victim into infinity, while providing infinite torture. Then he uses this on the conspirator. I read this in an anthology edited by Isaac Asimov, and I believe it was a set of 1930s or 1940s SF. Also appeared in Astounding, early SF magazine. I think the title had some reference to gods or something religious. Theme is definitely Tibetan Buddhist. You would think of Zelazny, but haven't found it among his stories. I've tried search engines and come up with zero. Please help.

in order for us to have a subjective reality. there must be something there in order to have a subjective reality. because if there isnt, then what is it that we base our ideas on?? and what is it that we perceive?? and if there is no objective reality then how is it that we created colors, sounds, touch, and smell if we have had no experience prior to them?? think of someone being born in a sensory deprivation tank, he would have no concept of a color so how could he create an illusion which consists of them along with the other senses??

but without subjective reality then there can be no objective reality. because if we dont have perceptions then there can be no objective reality to perceive.

so then do you beleive that this is all real?? or illusion?

i have been writing some short stories, about this supernatural knight, in a futuristic apocolyptic world were swordplay is the major weapon of choice, however many people use firearms (called "firesticks") the knights name is blak sunshine, in this first pamphlet he fights his nemisis who happens to be a evil spirit who infests bodys. he is simply trying to regain his empire that he lost many many years ago. but during the way he changes. the first pamphlet is 8 pages (front and back) the second instalment will be a lot more. anyhow the name of the first instalment is called "Thunderkiss 3069--Bloodlust" the title of the second will be "Thunderkiss 3069 Rage Against the Earth" so far it is just first drafts. (and when it is finished it will be in much better grammar than what i put this question in)
