from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: ECHELON is a name used to describe a highly secretive world-wide signals intelligence and analysis network said to be run by the UKUSA Community (composed of intelligence agencies of five English-speaking nations), that has been reported by a number of sources including, in 2001, a committee of the European Parliament (EP report[1]).

Yesterday I posted a question about hair washing and I said that I'd washed my hair about three times this year - not at all in the past three months and I was told that I must stink.

Believe me, if I did, my colleagues - who often have their nose very near my head would soon tell me, two weeks ago one of my male colleagues even asked if I'd been to the hairdressers as my hair looked lovely.

I'm not a slob nor am I lazy, I have bottles of Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom with more in the cupboard but I decided to test out the theory that after six weeks of not putting chemicals on your head, your hair's natural oils take over and it becomes thicker, fuller and more manageable.

When I did wash it every other day, I looked like Einstein, it was thin, very flyway and no amount of hairspray could keep it down.

Now, I haven't reported anyone for their answers, not even a thumbs down but I was offended and that's hard to do.

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they
pay
me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as
they see
fit. In order to get that paycheck I am required to pass a
random
drug test, which I have no problem with.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass the urine test. Shouldn't one have
to pass a
urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to
earn it for them.

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get
backon their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping
someone sit on their butt using my taxes to get high.

Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people
had
to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check.

in underdeveloped countries we have gazillion national and international agencies trying to implement program and projects with a very broad objective of impowering the poor, and eradicating poverty. It is a pity to see many of these so called relief agencies empower their own expatriot program head with astronomical salaries and facilities. Is there a possibility to have a program that can help poor make money for themselves?

My father will be turning 84 and I was just wondering how old age changes a persons thinking about life in general? He is active, goes for walks, volunteers, his mind is clear, but at that age how does one live without dreams and long term goals. How does one live a happy life when the end is so near? This isn't something I would talk about with him but I'd like to understand people at that age. I am 48 and getting old seems depressing.

Our school sports co-ordinator seems to have a problem with me, for some unknown reason. She is also a teacher and is a substitute when our teacher is away.

I'd like to say I am a good student (without being too arrogant). I'm polite, never miss a class and always get my work in on time and my work is at a good standard.

I've had our sports co-ordinator twice as a substitute and twice has she marked me as absent, even though she has acknowledged me in class.

The first time I asked the sports coordinator why she marked me absent and she said I came in late (which I didn't). I told her my form teacher believed I was in class and changed it to an explained. The SC said "Oh that's all right, you perfect reputation wont be ruined" (sarcastically)

At form time today and form teacher called me up again. I explained to her what had happened. She said I was a truthworthy person and she trusted me.

What can I do? Talking to her didn't help. PLEASE!

A bit worried here, so forgive any/all incoherencies that may occur throughout this post.

Anyhow, as stated, I have a 5-month-old kitten (just turned 5 months on the 20th), who is usually super energetic, friendly, vocal, and a sweetheart. A basic, overall cute and typical kitten.

However, today (or yesterday, the 21st, by this time), he'd spent just about the entire day in hiding, to himself and in darkness (a.k.a. the shade). He also didn't really eat a lot, and I am not sure, but I do not think that he'd even gone to the bathroom the twice maximum that he usually does (unless my sister had cleaned his box while I was away, in which case that'd explain the empty box). Not to mention that he barely spoke, and the one time he had was a more like a "hum" versus a meow (because he hadn't really opened his mouth).

Now, onto my main concern. His suddenly rapid breathing. He is asleep right now, and so his breathing is vaguely less rapid, but still rapid and abnormal, nonetheless. Almost
