My internal CD Rom drive doesn't work. Sometimes the door won't open, but when it does and I insert a CD, I keep getting messages that there is no CD in the drive. Other times it just doesn't recognize the drive at all. I am a NOVICE, and a poor one at that. I would love to either: replace the CD rom drive if it is easy enough, or get an external CD rom drive, but don't know if it would be recognized. I have a Dell Dimension 2400.

I am trying to install the linkysys router disc again..I complete the steps about hooking up the wires, then on step 6 it checks the computer requirements/settings..then the password screen comes up. and it starts over again..back to the step 6 again
