So I want to build a private pool in my yard. The bigger the pool, the more expensive it is going to be. A 25 meter (82ft) pool would be ideal, but too big and expensive. A 6 meter (20ft) pool is affordable, but too small.

What is the absolute minimum length for a pool to swim laps in?

The size of the yard is not a limiting factor; it's pretty big.

This will be my last question. I find many of the ideas and discussions on this forum so hate-filled it's depressing.
However, I would like to know why it is neccessary to destroy a country and kill more than 200,000 people who had nothing to do with it to avenge the deaths of 2000. I'm not sure of the numbers, but the ratio is about right 100:1.

Just saw a post on it and somehow I've never heard of this before. Being an English major, I'm feeling pretty silly for not knowing. Being an intellectual, I want a good answer on what this thing that has been introduced to me really is.

Since my car is no longer under warranty, and it has turned 100K , I wonder if a new or rebuilt exasperator should be used for replacement. My new mechanic recommends getting a new one as the rebuilt ones are not usually reliable. The new one will cost about $250 plus labor but the rebuilt one costs only $175. Any experience or advice concerning this matter?

I have a friend that is going to Iraq. When he's over there I want to send him some home cooked food. I know many people do this, but how do I do it without the food spoiling. I've even heard of people sending things like macaroni and cheese, how is this possible?

As the Earth gets hotter, more water will evaporate from the oceans and rain will be more abundant. Yet Lovelock predicts, under global heating, much of the land on Earth below the Arctic Circle will be turned to dry desert as you can see in this figure from the book:

http://www.geocities.com/opera101/desert_america/desert_america.html

Please explain the apparent contradiction.
