...I have itchy feet, cant afford to just go and travel without working and really want to experience and immerse myself in foreign cultures rather than do the usual package holiday. Do you have any ideas that would allow me to travel and work at the same time? Or do you have any views about travelling and seeing the world?

Say I book a flight at a nearby city because it is cheaper to fly from there instead of my larger airport and it connects here to go to where I am going anyway, and I happen to "miss" my flight and get to the airport here in time, can I just board the connecting flight? Will they let me do that?
