Live in London and have to go alone - has anyone done this and felt 100% safe. If so, where did you go. (I am a woman)

Hi,

I travel alone all the time, and I always stay in Hostels.

That way, you are virtually guaranteed to be int he centre of the city and attractions, plus you will meet loads of friends to have fun with and go see the sights.

Plenty of girls / women go it alone and stay in hostels... just choose the highest rated one in the city your going to on the Hostelworld website.

Apart from those benefits, you can save a lot of money on your accomodation like that - (typically hostel sin Europe are £15 a night) - so you can go much further and stay longer.

Where, what can I say, everywhere!

How about Rome and Florence for a week or 10 days with day trips from Florence to Siena and Assisi?

How about Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba for 10 days?

How about Madrid for 10 days with day trips to Salamanca, Vailladolid, Toledo, and Segovia?

How about Krakow (Polands most beautiful and unspoilt medeival city)

How about Barcelona for a long weekend?

How about Paris, with trips to Versailles, Troyes, and Rheims?

So, go for it - it is 100% just like London, so long as you are sensible the same as any city.

You can find budget flights for all destinations in Europe on Skyscanner (link below)!

I put some links below to help you out

Happy Trails

Philip

You should be pretty safe in Europe, the problem is when single women travel to other continents such as Africa, some parts of india etc.

I would suggest places like Riga, Latvia (Ryanair), Budapest Hungary and Tallinn in Estonia (easyJet). All wonderful cities. enjoy and take care of yourself. You'll be fine

I went to Budapest on my own. Got a cheap deal (£153 for 3 nights) with Lastminute.com and flew out with Malev airlines from Stansted.

Had a great time seeing the sights on my own and didn't feel unsafe at any point. In fact, I enjoyed it more than going with my boyf cos I got to mooch around the museums and shops without him hassling me to hurry up!

I'm not a great fan of dining alone, but i got round this by going to cafes and informal eateries so I didn't feel too out of place.

Good luck! Almost anywhere in Western Europe is fine for women travellers on their own. Spain is great too! I recommend Barcelona or Madrid.

One of the safest places to go is Venice, not the cheapest but every thing in walking distance, and if you get the urge to shop Vicenza is less tha an hour away to the West, with all the main Italian dept stores. And Treviso to the north for the boutiques..
