I'm thinking of going away in March. I am looking for somewhere which is fun, lively, has lots of interesting things to see and do, and has really good weather at that time of year.

I have already been to some obvious spring break destinations: New York, Miami, Cape Town, and Buenos Aires.

Any other suggestions? I will be flying from the UK

There used to be a website on which you selected a date and a somewhat specific location of a hotel in which to stay, and also a star rating and an amenity list. The price was discounted; the only catch was that you couldn't see exactly which hotel you'd chosen until after you'd paid with a credit card. Does anyone know which site this is? I've used it before with great results. (I know it's wasn't Priceline, because you never named your price.) Thank you!

A man was lost in the desert for 3 days and suddenly hears "mush!". He looked up to see what he thinks is a mirage : an Eskimo on a sled, driving a team of huskies. To his surprise, the sled came to a stop at his feet. He said, " I don't know why you're here, but I'm glad you are. I've been lost for days." Panting, the Eskimo repies, "You think YOU'RE lost?"

My partner and I have 4 days available in late October and want to visit somewhere special and peaceful for an important day. This day is the last day of the break. We'd like to be somewhere on that day that is near the sea or ocean (for at least an hour or 2 anyway), and then travel back to London later that day/evening. We'd prefer it if the destination wasn't more than about 2 hours travel away from London (air, longer ok for or other means of transport). And preferably not anywhere too expensive to get to! We'd like to use the earlier days of the break to do some sightseeing around the destination and make best use of our holiday time. We are from Australia and haven't been in the UK long so would like to see somewhere new in the UK or Europe. Any thoughts or experiences you've had that you think were great??? We're in our early 30s, so happy to do fairly active stuff the earlier days, just the last day needs to be peaceful/low key (and near water!).

How do pro teams, and all the coaches, trainers, equipment et alia get from city to city? I could see short range bus trips, but say the Red Sox are going to Seattle then Oakland then LA.....commercial jet? charter jet that specializes in flying sports teams? and if by air, is there a special configuration...i.e. 60 business class seats?
If not who gets to sit up front and who in the back 6 accross?

I went to Costa Rica one time and had a layover in Miami, and I lengthened the layover to 12 hours on purpose so I could visit Miami. Two trips for the price of one essentially. Are there any airfare sites that specialize in picking layover cities where you can do this? The ideal trip would be maybe 2-3 layovers, a day in each place. Is this possible?

I ask this because I am an African living in Africa although I have travelled to developed countries before. And I know that the foreign media portrays Africa in the worse possible light. But I also know that life in developed countries are not as PERFECT as they portray, else people wont die in the cold during winter.
So as an African it is pretty annoying when the media keeps broadcasting stories that make the rest of the world wonder if there is anything good at all in Africa or the continent if full AIDS,famine and war knowing how they love to exagurate just to make the stories breaking news or catch public's attention.

And those of you who have been to Africa before what were your thoughts before you visited?
Had they changed positively or negatively after your visit or vacation?
What led to the change of perception?
