I've been traveling for several years to Rio de Janeiro and want to invest in a luxury condominium (around US$400,000) to use during my trips there and rent while I'm away. While I've looked all over the internet, I've found no companies that offer a true "luxury" condo for sale (imagine a property similar to a suite at a Ritz Carlton - plasma flatscreen TVs, marble flooring, beautiful bathrooms, etc.). It seems that "luxury" in Rio means a 13 inch Samsung TV and a tiled bathroom from the 1980s. Also, I'm looking for a credible firm (ideally one that owns multiple properties, rather than a single unit for sale) that offers title insurance. Any ideas on the best company to use to buy a luxury condominium in Ipanema or Copacabana?

We're driving to Rio, so we have wheels? Where would you stay in greater Rio? In Copacabana? In Ipanema? Or some other neighborhood?
Which establishment would be your choice, for two people wanting to spent between 150 and 200 Reais a night?
Are any highways into Rio more dangerous than others?

I'm taking trip to Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) in March of 2007 for my birthday for 7 days and with two friends. What are some great places to visit during this time? I want to experience as much native culture as possible. If you know of any clubs, bars, musems, etc... all is welcomed

Now I know it's heavily Portugese it's just that when I visted Brazil a couple of times it seemed that I noticed some of the people their looked of Spanish decent, The African is so obvious of course in others and of course Portugese in the rest, then you have some that look kind of French and then some that have Japanese in them I know of that Sao Paulo has a big Japanese population, I just wanted to know how much Spanish blood is in Brazil?

Pretty simple question. Trying to travel to Rio De Janeiro in March for a week. So far I'm find round trip tickets from the DC area for 950 USD. Anybody know of any other places for good deals. I've only checked Expedia, Orbitz and Yahoo FareChase.

I am looking to take a trip to Brazil (Rio De Janeiro, more specifically). I've been doing research and so far some sites are saying that between March and June are the best times to go. I am getting these results from sites that do not look too creditable and wanted to get other peoples opinions who may be from the area. I am also worried that it will be out of season and not too many young people will be around to have fun with.
