I would really like to have one... I have shot one before and loved it, my buddies grandfather brought one back form the war in Germany and that is the reason he has one and i am jealous, haha

Can anyone tell me (or direct me to a good website that will tell me) the differences between a 9mm, a .45, and a .38? I'm talking weight, expense, ease of firing, amount of kick, etc. Anything you can tell me would be much appreciated. Advice and reccomendations are welcome.

Mt. Rainier is aroound Seattle, WA. For those who are familar with it, the trail will be Camp Muir trail, about 10mile round trip, starting at 5000 ft, with the highest point around 10000ft. There is going to have some snow in the second half of the trail. Will regular day-hike boots do? I'll have a pair of trekking poles with me too.
