I have a taylormade driver that is R&A approved but illegal in the usa. A young golf assistant pro showed me that you can shave the face in the sweetspot to make it thinner and have a higher COR. I have one of the 8 degree Callaway 454 drivers. I had an xx shaft put in it at standard length. The young pro took fine metal grade sandpaper and sanded the sweet spot to the metal changed colors. This made the Callaway driver hotter than the illegal taylormade. I played 3 rounds of golf and hit practice balls two times. In the middle of the 3rd round the face of the callaway dented. I was carrying it about 330 yds. So has anyone else tried this.

My dad wants a Callaway X-460 for Christmas but we are on a tight budget.

Look at: http://valueguide.pga.com/detail.php?product_type=203&brand=2675&model=46510

It says the trade in value average would be $90.

Then how come I can't find anywhere a driver for this price, not even on Ebay.

Do they take a driver you trade in, and then sell it for a higher price?

Thanks.

Is it possible for a sixteen year old to start golf and become good at it in 3 months? And is it possible for this child to become a professional golfer and possibly the greatest.

P.s This child practices four times a week

I currently hit my sand wedge up to 125 yards and I am just not consistant enough with it at 80 yards and in. I tend to get caught on those 70-80 yards to the pin and wonder what degree of loft should I look for.

I have been the sole owner since 1980 - they are actually older then my children! They are numbered and recorded at the Ping factory - I was able to replace the Pitching Wedge when I lost mine on a golf course many years ago. I want an honest appraisal of their value, as either a collectors item or for a golfer.

My husband is a hobby-golfer, he needs new clubs & I'd like to get him a set for his birthday, but can only spend under $500 (ideally less than that). What are the best choices in this price range? I have no idea! He's 6"4' & right-handed if that matters...

I bought these and thought they were Callaways - (since Callaway bought Top Flite they were advertised as Callaways.) So I wanted to know how these clubs rate.
