There's no easy answer to this because the best and longest ball for you may not be the same as for me. If you have a slower swing speed you should use a softer ball, so it will compress on the club face. If the ball doesn't compress, it will not go nearly as far.

Also 2 piece balls are typically longer than 3 piece balls, but most advanced golfers prefer 3 piece balls because they get more spin from them, therefore more control when using an iron or wedge to reach the green.

Having said all that, you should take a look at the Bridgestone e5 and e6 balls. I've provided you with a link, below:

You can't really go wrong with whatever you choose. There's only about a 5 yard difference between "distance" balls and "tour" balls. The link below is to Golf Digest's 2009 Hot List (what you'd be looking at wasn't done the same way in '10... they only did wedge spin) that shows how closely balls of different price points are all bunched together. The lone exception, in a test done by Golf Magazine a few years ago, was the Nike One Platinum. With a robot swinging at 95 mph (the male average) the ball only flew 235 yards, compared to everyone else in the 250's. When they amped the robot up to 105 mph, it performed just like the rest.

Try getting some dirt and scratches on the ball, and don't get it cleaned. It'll fly further according to Golf Digest survey I read a couple of years ago. It seems the dirt made the ball spin less, thus go further by a few yards.

If you want a long ball, go for those two piece balls, with low spin rate. You'll hit the ball lower and get more roll.

I would say callaway hx hot is the best ball is actually has some feel its just awsome long. I hit a 7 iron 188 with an average swing i pured it but the ball just took of a sat within 5 feet of its landing location. These ball aren't spin ball but they preform well enough to play on medium greens and get a lot of roll of the tee.

Golf balls have a standardized size and fly exactly as far as you hit them
