Would that mean that the UK would cease to exist and all the countries would just become independant and not as one big supercountry/empire?

Let's fast forward awhile and say that Prince William of Wales has ascended the throne as King William V. Let's say that he has a son named Prince X who he creates the Prince of Wales. Then let's say that Prince X has a daughter Princess A. Prince X dies the day of his daughter's birth with no other children. Since she is the first and only child of the deceased Prince of Wales she can not be displaced in the line of succession. Will she now be called heir apparent since she's first in line to the throne and can not be bumped down by a future birth? Thanks.

Without the royal family in England, England would become a lot more boring country. The British Royal Family is without a doubt one of the biggest parts of British history, if not the biggest. I daresay the only real reason why I am interested in British history is because of the royals. The family generates a great deal of income for the country. Many complain because they pay taxes to the Royal Family, but it is not a huge amount of money and only poor people should really be complaining about it. The Queen travels around the world, representing Britain, visits local communities, donates money to charities, and participates in activities for those charities. She helped in the British military during World War II. She does not just sit at Buckingham Palace, sipping tea all day. She is an educated woman who has worked hard. It's not like she is Paris Hilton who is a school dropout, obnoxious party-goer, drama queen, and a disgrace to her family name.

I'm really a big fan of Diana's contributions to the world, her selflessness, and gorgeous style, but she really behaved badly at times. She committed adultery for years, used the press when it was convenient, and messed around with married men.

She herself was married, and, understandably, didn't want Camilla around,so why would it be ok for her to be the other woman in somebody else's marriage?I've actually heard some people calling for her to be nominated for saint hood, which I ceratinly don't believe is necessary.

have a dram? One of my Guatemalan cleaners thinks that he might have been Welsh, which of course is nonsense! (I have today fired her from upstairs duties).
But was Mr King's rhetorical style more like the Welsh ballad tradition, or the southern USA tradition of lyrical speechifying?
