If you somehow became both immortal and invulnerable, would you continue to worship your god(s).

Lets say there was some freak biochemical accident that cause a bit of magic normally reserved for hollywood and you became immortal and invulnerable (IE You cannot ever die). And lets just say for the sake of arguement that if there is a story of an end of the world ascension in your religion, that it will not happen for those who are immortal and invulnerable.

So even if your deity(s) do exist, you will never see them. There will never be an afterlife for you. There would also be no chance of you ever going to any sort of hell.

Would you continue to adhere to your faith?

To me it seems like at that point there would be no reason to continue in your faith because it does not apply to you. But I'd like to hear what you think.

Leviticus says that bats are birds, that some insects have four legs, and that rabbits chew cud.

All of these statements are not just inaccurate, they are outright wrong.

I believe in the bible, but I don't take all of it literally.
Others do, however, and this question is for them.

It's easy for you to just ignore the evidence for a 5 byo earth and evolution, but how do you reconcile these obvious errors, if you don't believe the bible can be wrong and must be interpreted literally?

Or did you even bother to read Leviticus?

Before a guy asked a question about this and my friends and I are interested in it. It talks about the screams of the dead in the underworld.
In the search, type in, "screams in earth's crust". Read the first few. Who over here believes it? Why or why not?

There are SO many non-theist archaeologists who say the documentary is just trying to make money. There's like one guy who says it's the bones of Jesus and everyone else atheist and Christian who are experts on the subject say it's a mistranslation.

Do you think people will start claiming to have a piece of Jesus bone for sale or maybe people will want to drink Jesus bones powder for health. In the least, people will want to touch the bones and "scientists" will want to examine them for super powers.

I can just see this exploding. It will be the new wonder drug.

What do you think?

Any good ideas for Jesus bones products?

God lived on a mountain.

Then he moved to the clouds.

Then he moved to space.

Then me moved outside of the universe....

Jesus lived on Earth and then flew away leaving no trace of himself...

Even if we found Jesus' body with the holes in his hands and feet and marks from a spear wound in his side it wouldn't be sufficient evidence because it could have been anyone....

But the Shroud of Turin was evidence for how many years????

Educational excerpt.

No one knows for sure on what day Christ was born. Dionysus Exiguus, a sixth century monk, who was the first to date all of history from December 25th, the year of our Lord 1. Other traditions gave dates as early as mid-November or as late as March. How did Christmas come to be celebrated on December 25th? Cultures around the Mediterranean and across Europe observed feasts on or around December 25th, marking the winter solstice. The Jews had a festival of lights. Germans had a yule festival. Celtic legends connected the solstice with Balder, the Scandinavian sun god who was struck down by a mistletoe arrow. At the pagan festival of Saturnalia, Romans feasted and gave gifts to the poor. Drinking was closely connected with these pagan feasts. At some point, a Christian bishop may have adopted the day to keep his people from indulging in the old pagan festival.

600 years before Christians got around to stealing the solstice holidays of the established religions

What do you dream about at night? This is not supposed to be a rude or hateful question, i just would like to know what is the most important distinction in your dreams. Like mine for instance, i don't notice people that well, but the surroundings are what always is more vibrant.

I am 15 years old and have been brought up as a Catholic. I've always believed in my religion, as this is what I've been taught is true. However, now that I have learnt more about my religion, I'm starting to see loads of things about it that I don't agree with. For example, the bible is extremely hypocritical, women are still treated as inferior, God is suppossed to love us all but will send you to Hell if you are bad . . . . . . I feel really bad even thinking this stuff because it goes against everything I've grown up being told, but I'm really not sure that Catholisism is right for me.
I do believe in a God, and that he made and loved us all.
I believe in a Heaven that you go to after you die
I believe in the messages that my religion teaches, love, forgiveness, kindness, peace, faith and hope.
However, I can't help thinking that this isn't the right religion for me.
I want to follow God, but I want to do it in a way that's right for me. Any suggestions?

Say, for example, I get a random sample of 9,000 people with no exposure to religion. (That would be difficult, but bare with me.)

A third read nothing at all, a third read the Bible, and another third read Harry Potter...

I give them before and after tests on emotional wellness, calmness, perceptiveness, etc.

... would that be interesting? Would Christians oppose even doing the test?

Like finding Jesus' bones, for instance? But what if we found something older than the Bible that contradicts it? Something like, oh, Jesus' bones! What then?

If we were created from a nebula....(think about it) ...one day the Sun will burn out and in time (a lot of time) it will become the nebula again (baby star dust) and out of this-new life will form....and we will all live again. Spiritual or not; soul or not; life is tangible and constantly relived.

"Why will Muslims not quote real authoritative statistics from certified research groups who show Islam is not the fastest growing religion in 3/4’s of the worlds countries."

This is not a bash on the site or the Christian faith (or anyone else for that matter) but... which of the following did this person mean?

1. Why don't Muslims quote from valid sources?

or

2. Why don't Muslims quote from sources which support the view that their religion is not the fastest growing? (instead of quoting from sources which support the opposite)

Sorry... I just found the grammar here to be too funny.
