To me, an 11 year old up to age 18 shouldn't be here. Aren't there other sites appropriate for them??

When you attend a funeral, do you prefer an open casket/viewing, where you can see the deceased person lying there? Or do you prefer the casket to be closed, with nothing to see?

Personally, I think it's ghastly to have an open casket! I'm not trying to offend anyone, just stating my opinion. Here's my reasoning: The last time you see your now-deceased friend or loved one is going to be "burned into" your memory for a long time, or maybe even forever. So, isn't it better to hold onto an image of the person when they were real, natural and ALIVE, rather than embalmed, made-up and DEAD?

That's the way I see it anyway. I'm not saying everyone has to agree. I'm just explaining why I feel so strongly against open caskets. I never want my last memory of someone to be as unnatural as it is with an open casket. *shudder* And on top of everything else, I also think open caskets can be scary and confusing to young children.

I'd love to know how you feel on this topic, and why. Thanks!

..........providing a means to knowing who we are, why we are here, where we are from, where we will go. Though some people deny this devine existence, even they, when faced with doom, hurry to acknowledge it.

The aquisition of this knowledge is an inner aim of all, for it offers our true divine inheritance: peace of mind.
The dedication of our lives to this knowledge enables us our infinite blessings.

I have a mother in law that says Church of Christ is the only church that you can learn the correct word of the Lord. She says anyone that goes to any other church are sinners and are not learning whats right. She said the Lord died for us through Church of Christ and that why we should all go to Church of Christ. I don't support what she is saying. I feel that you can go to what ever church you feel and learn the word of the Lord. What do you think?

Hi there,

This question is open only to those who despise Islam.
Only serious and truthful responses please. This is not a brutal interrogation on my part, but a sincere query.

a) How did you come to know about Islam?
In other words, what are your sources of information on Islam?
[for examples: media, mouth of people, Muslim friends etc.]

b) What are your reasons for being resentful towards Islam?

c) Did September the 11th, 2001, make any impact on your impressions towards Islam?
In other words, what was your understanding of AND curiosity towards Islam *before* and *after* the September 11th, 2001?
Did it change a great deal? In what ways?

d) Did you ever read a Quran? Which translation and edition?

Your candid response is greatly appreciated! Thanking you in advance.

Was playing golf with one of the Thick as Planks yesterday, and he was full of himself for the first 4 or 5 holes when he was ahead. Then came that nasty thing that he couldn't handle called the good old British weather-lol-OMG-they don't like a little bit of wind or rain that makes you have to change your strategy on how to play(i.e.-raises the skill and invention factor!!)-Eventually thrashed Uncle Sam Motormouth-and all he did for the last 9 holes was complain about everything British-the golf courses(best in the world if we had the weather-FACT!!),the food(probably because our golf clubs don't do lunches of 5000 calories or more!!)and the Brits themselves-why don't American's realise the rest of the world's perception of them-and why doesn't the rest of the world forbid the fatties to travel outside of their national border?-Would we miss them or would we all get on so much better without them?

There should be no such mention as to the "color" of artists when having awards shows (Black music awards) this only fuels racism, things need to change to truly put an END to racism. People must forgive and move forward of their great, great, grand parents past and accept that here today- it HAS CHANGED and all are equal, and STOP using history to breed more racism by acting as though people are OWED preference, or boasting about their race and status. Their great great grandparents if alive today would NOT want racism fueled by their sacrifice, but if asked would want change to come out of it so it was not in vain, it's time to let go and move forward and REMOVE COLOR STATUS FROM EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE!! what is your take on this issue?
