Everytime I vist there most people are wanting a free hand out or something like that. I have even seen a friend of mine who forced his Mom to give him cash for beer and other trivial stuff all the time, he like treats her like trash. Don't you people have any respect for your parents or elders?

I am 21, living in Exeter (Devon), having been born in rural Dorset. Safe to say that, like many others, I am deeply upset by the way the UK is sliding- despite my young age I feel I am able to make such observations as they are bolstered by the views of the older generations!

I have noticed that a good chunk of the general popluation (myself included) have an inherent apathy when it comes to politics and voting, except when it comes to moaning about whoever is in charge at the time. I think this apathy is to blame for many of our troubles as a nation and a sense of national pride should be re-installed to cure it; we need to see the rebirth of British industry (and re-nationalisation) and the traditional education system reinstored. We have become soft and this needs to change, but there is no catalyst in place for this with our current politcal system.

Do you think we'd accept a modern, peace-time Winston Churchill (who, of course, came to power legitimately) to do this?
