I wonder why we separate, why not just Americans, I don't separate I see us as Americans

I think I understand your question though it's a bit muddled.

Afro Americans call themselves that, I would imagine, simply because they (or their ancestors) were from Africa before they lived in America. The 'Afro' comes chronologically before the 'American'.
Also, as they are now American by nationality, the 'Afro' is simply a adjective: if it was the other way round, grammatically it would mean they were Africans, which wouldn't be correct.

It's just the way the English language works, adjectives precede nouns. The noun indicates citizenship and primary affiliation. The adjective modifies the noun, providing additional information, in this case about the part of U.S. culture that one identifies with most closely.

The pattern was long and thoroughly established for other immigrant groups (Italian Americans, Irish Americans, etc) when African-American came into use in the 1970s.

That it happens to fit the chronology is just a pleasant artifact of English grammar.

Afro refers to the country or part of the world they originated from. American means that they have become Americans. First things first.

Because American Afro sounds like eg: American socialists, that form of writing is more suitable for professions and characteristics, American African, also has not proper grammar, because you cant be African and American at the same time. when you say African American, it implies that first you are African and then you are American, so you have first, African ancestors, an second born in America, which is consequent with history.

usa and western/bluegrass song that comes from Scottish and Irish song? fish fry that comes from the Caribean indians? Cornbread from the southeastern indians? Bourbon whiskey made by technique of the Scottish settlers? Cole slaw and sauerkraut from the Germans? all the sausages we eat? Nascar? Basketball, baseball and football were invented by technique of white human beings. The language replaced into invented by technique of white human beings. i did not comprehend that Brett Favre,Jason Elam, Morten Andersen, Gary Anderson,Steve O'Neal, etc (NFL); Pete Rose, Rocky Colavito, Lou Gherig, Don Mattingly, etc. (Baseball) were "afro human beings". Sorry all i learn about Basketball is that Jordan is black and Byrd is white. i do not imagine that 'each thing seen "American way of existence" ' is "predominantly Afro-American derived." to commence with do you recommend each thing or do you recommend PREDOMINANTLY? Predominantly makes it possible for there to be another issues. for sure the Africans contributed plenty to American way of existence-as did the Europeans and Asians. that is what makes usa a best usa and provides us our unusual way of existence. in simple terms savour it!

Because they are proud where they come from its their roots ! We get the same thing here in Australia where Lebanese say they are Lebanese Australians ! maybe they don't want to be called Americans or Australians, because they don't really like the country ! that's what i find with most of the people here who say that !!

Don't really understand what difference it makes for you. The reason though, is that the African American was African before becoming American.
