All of the countries that the British use to have celebrate Boxing day with the exception of the United States? I have always wondered why. Also, do you plan to "celebrate" even though as a country we don't? What are your plans?

My family is all Christian, I am not. However I have always done Christmas with them, as it is a time for family, tradition and all of that. This year, we have moved to Colorado and we have set up to not have any family and I was feeling lonely. It turns out my brother (who lives in Colorado Springs - and I am in Denver) IS going to be home on Christmas - as is my sister from California. She, her fiance, and her boys were invited to my brothers and we weren't.

I tried to call them to let them know that we would be happy to come down, but they didn't really invite us and said they would call back. I haven't heard from them - so I guess we aren't invited. I was really hoping to see them.

Now I feel down and left out :(

*sigh*

I figured even if we didn't go down today - my sister will be there all week. But now I don't even think they want me to come. If they did, they would have invited me, right?

Ours happened last night...my family was visited by three christmas spirits (i.e., everclear, vanilla vodka, and goldschlager). The rest is history, lol.

And once again it’s midnight Christmas eave/Christmas morning and just like last year, I'm sitting here with my glass of wine, listening to my roommate snoring softly, and thinking about the meaning of this holly day we are all about to celebrate.
Recently I ran across a thought… and have been posting it as part of the various answers I’ve been righting in Y!A, as well as in Yahoo IM.
“And during this holiday season let us all stop to remember the true meaning of this celebration… That Santa died for all our MasterCards.” –Author Unknown-
Yes it’s funny. But it’s also poignant too. There was a time once when A toy for each child in the house, and a sweater for your spouse… A big meal on the table, and an orange in each sock… A real tree strung with popcorn, a trip to church in the morning and caroling in the neighborhood… And all of it with you family. That was Christmas

I am 14 and have a school holiday break for 2 weeks. However, I have no idea how to spend it without spending loads of money. I live in London so I have many options, but I just can't think of them...:S I would happily spend around £10 or more if its something really fun!

It went pretty well for me this year for once. I got 2 perfumes (Chanel no 5 and Euphoria Blossoms) a photo printer, the Sex and the City entire series on dvd, a Tiffany & Co necklace and 2 games for my Nintendo DS. This has been the best Christmas gift-wise!
