I hope this year's the best for you all; I've been eating and hanging out with my friends and family all day (it's 7:37pm here).

and R.I.P. James Brown - the Godfather of Soul. There will never be another person like him, and it's a real shame he died on Christmas.

But he was given, and now he's taken away. His music lives on forever, and with it.. so does he.

What sticks out the most as far as personal family traditions go? One thing my family did for over 20 years was pass the SAME fruitcake around to a different family member each year. It would always be wrapped new, or cleverly packaged so the recipient didnt know what it was until they opened it. We really did keep the same one all those years until it finally got dropped and broke.

What about your traditions?

Assuming not everyone practices Christianity, and then there are the people who have no religion at all. What about people who just want to be able to go about their daily business? Should everything close down for a christian holiday? Nothing closes down for Rash Hashana. What do you think?
