Ok, I understand the UK laws have rightly changed in favour for the disabled and we see wheelchair access everywhere.
Also I believe if a diabled person wants to use any facilitie and cannot due to the fact there is no access to it for his/her disabilitie he/she is entitled to sue.

BUT........(you knew it was coming) you have to agree having to put wheelchair access at Heliports which supply a dedicated Taxi service as shuch to Offshore installations is insane?
Is this a law soon to be abused?

Yes I know this is a useless question, but my grandaughter is coming to visit for a couple of days.I'm so excited cos I haven't seen her for nearly a year as she doesn't live close to me.
I know we will have a great time, but when she has to return home I know I will be tearful.

Recently, we moved to a small town in KY where everyone knows everyone. They all go to some kind of church together and they all do about the same thing. We moved here from GA and things are really different from what I am use too. Trying to fit in around here is very hard. I have two teenagers and a toddler. My girls have adjusted well and they are in highschool and they have friends.. But I tell ya- some parents are really hard to get a long with. They dont want anything to do with someone that wasnt born and raised around here. I just dont understand what I can do to get people to know who I am. I'm not a bad person to be around. I have three children that I am constantly doing things for. These people around here are so competative that it drives me insane. Whatever happen to small-town hospitality? I live in a neighborhood that they would rather stick their noses up in the air than say HELLO? After saying all of that... how can a person make friends with these people?

arent' Oriental Asians (those of jpanese, chinese, korean, vietnamese descent) colors are really white and not yellow? And arent caucasians' real color is pink? The only caucasians who have white skin are those of spanish, irish and italian descent. I think oriental asians should be called white cos many of them are white like ivory and caucasians shoud be called pink bcos of their pinkish complexion. Whats your opinion on this? Im just an observer of things, if you dont mind.

I work in a place (County Government) where people with outgoing 'big mouths' get the most respect, regardless of what they know. Yet, they seem to have more of a draw and charisma than the introverted people that know alot. My question is why are outgoing extroverted people more admired than introverts?

I was just wondering what we seniors think about it.By now we have covered quite some distance in life and some time or the other would have paused to ask the question : What really is the meaning of life? Has anyone here got any satisfactory answer to that? For my part, I have realized that I understand NOTHING. Life is an enigma, a puzzle 'full of sound and fury signifying nothing'. Even that cliche that you live for others doesn't mean much for any unselfish act (including charity) gives you only a momentary pleasure. It is not an everlasting fulfilling feeling. What would YOU think about it?

What's going on in England - this is the biggest Communist state in Europe. We've benefits going out to the massive influx of Europeans from second world countries. 80% tax on fuel. Where are our production industries? Drugs and crime are rife in cities. Fast-food outlets everywhere. Think about it: about 65-70% of us are working; the rest are either too old; too young or too sick, lazy or stupid to work. Why can't we have an immigration policy like that of Australia? Our trains are crap, our postal system is mostly privatised, our health service is f**ked (£12bn on a new computer system?! When did a computer ever cure an illness?) We have fast-food, enormous cars, shite television, political correctness and health & safety. This is all set against a backdrop of pandering to minority groups, "The War on Terror," greed, and apathy. Our country is being run by lawyers and the media. What's going on?

I have lived and worked in the U.S, South Africa, Australia and Indonesia as well as London and always been accepted by the the local community, but I have never met such a bunch of insular, inbred, ignoramus idiots as the residents of King`s Lynn Norfolk.
Has anybody else had the unfortunate experience of trying to integrate with inbreds of King`s Lynn.

I feel very lost right now. I am gay, HIV-Positive and have NF1. I was born with NF1 and had numerous surgeries since I was a child leading to severe disfigurements. In addition to my coming out, my parents eventually disowned me for being gay. I moved to NYC from LA and discovered that I was HIV-positive. That was several years ago. I have since found myself in a deep depression that hinders my ability to form healthy relationships with others who are not only accepting but non-judgemental as well. I work in the arts and my work can be sporadic thus leaving me with no additional income. Since my diganosis, I have taken anti-depressants(which have not helped), undergone therapy and exercised consistently trying to maintain my health and well being. It is rather diffucult since I have no family and little friends. I think the enormity of my situation has dissuaded others from being my friend. I feel like I want to die sometimes. What do I do? I feel so alone and isolated.
