Tell them that they only have 3 minutes and then tell them that you don't want them back and will call the police if they harass you. Put a No Soliciting sign in a prominent place near your door.

Well in the past I've just politely listened to them and answered a couple of their questions taken the pamphlets and after closing the door throwing it in the trash.
Now I rarely get JW's at my door, but when I do any more I say that I believe in Jesus and in the flag as a representative of America and that I'm proud of being an American. That always does it. I don't believe in being rude just factual.

It's jehova's witnesses and you don't
Yout tell them to GTFO you have things to do.
But if you really want to stress the polite factor then I would suggest just playing it off and showing them how busy you are (or make them think so) and ask them if they would like something but just leave and never come back and leave the door open so they know they should just probably leave....
I still think the best approach would just be telling them you're not interested and showing a firm decision and unchanging mind so they think you're hopeless for their cause. (or pretend you're one of them lol..)

I don't mean to bash any group, but the JW's are tough!!
I went to a friends house one day and my friend threw me on the floor and told me to stay down. The JW's were walking around the house looking through the windows and turning the door knobs!! They were determined to talk to someone, even after nobody answered the door. I hope you don't have to hide in a closet in your own home to escape them. Good luck!

Just tell them no thank you I'm not interested and after a few times of being nice, sometimes you have to get mean and tell them go away harshly or even tell them you'll call the cops for their tresspassing and harrassing you.

Politeness doesn't often work.
When they start their spiel, I usually let them finish their first sentence (unless it's a super long one), then I ask "are you Jehovah's Witnesses?"
When they say yes, I say "then I don't want to talk to you", and calmly close the door.
