Where can I find information on individual economic sectors?
Here is my assignment for this paper word for word.
Select 5 sectors and then find 5 publicly traded firms in your 5 sectors, 25 firms. Develop a paper in which ( at a minimum ) you name the sectors, describe them, name the five stocks, describe their product, and indicate if the shares trade up, down or flat.

ANY help would be really appreciated !!

Right now how can gas prices be dropping when oil is up over $80? In my idea in manufacturing, when the price of your materials goes up you increase the cost of your product.. And alot of smartasses say the the high prices of fuel is simple economics. Which I dont understand.. Usually the more you sell of something the less it costs. Look what a TV used to cost.. Now theyre giving them away for next to nothing..

Why can't politicians do more to help the student? Do they not talk about increasing education. The Student coming out of college is losing to inflation and tuition increases not to mention loans. The student starts off the real world in debt but also with his starting salary increases losing out to inflation and tuition increases alone. Students are bound to have a long time in debt. Is there a way to end this problem?

So an example I was given was Kellogg's Raisin Bran as a monopolistic competition. Would Nike be a good example? I figure there are many firms in the athletic shoe industry and there is differentiation in its product, I think.

(PLEASE answer only if you are a current minimum wage earner)

There was a recent minimum wage increase act that will raise minimum wage in 3 steps over the next two years. My question to you is it worth it to have a little extra change in your pocket at the end of the day even though the the increase in wages will raise insurance premium rates along with gas, inflation and food?

Based on my research I was under the impression that the Fed Reserve is privately owned.. But this is the response I recieved "The Federal Reserve System is not privately owned. Like every other federal department it does business with and through private institutions. Fed net revenues are rebated to treasury - not paid in dividends to shareholders so it is not a "for profit" business. Inflation rates have been lower and more stable in the last 30 years than most of history. All banks create money out of nothing. M1 - the amount of currency and federal bank guarantees in the economy has not grown substantially since the early1990s."

Is this accurate?
