... a child I have encountered in my line of work who can speak but doesn't? She is occasionally responsive through eye contact or gesture and she sometimes smiles but she never makes a sound.

Lately I get mad easily, but not to the point where I need to undergo therapy to stop being too violent or breaking/throwing things. The stress that causes this is mostly work-related.

When you feel your about to blow your top, what do you do?

I work with a woman who fits the description of "drama queen" to a 'tee'. It'd be funny, but we work on the same project. She demands our supervisor's attention constantly and tries to participate in everything that is going on (regardless of whether it involves her or not). I believe her actions show she's insecure but it still bothers me. Has anyone been in a similar situation? I'm trying to separate myself from her without shutting down and becoming the "workplace mouse" (or whatever the opposite of a drama queen would be).

Suggestions appreciated.

What about when birth control was not available? I guess that was the fifties (right?) when teenage pregnancy was almost unheard of. Why are there more pregnancies now, with so much available birth control, than when there was none?

P.S. I'm interested to hear from those who were living in the era when abortion was illegal- it wasn't that long ago.
